New Student Orientation

Dear Parent/Guardian of 9th Grade Pascack Valley Students:

Over the past several years our high school administrators have joined with the Hillsdale and River Vale Police Chiefs to develop procedures for prevention, intervention and response training strategies focusing on school safety.  Our overall program design includes the following activities that your child will experience:

August 29 - We will offer an assembly as part of our 9th grade orientation to introduce our Lockdown Procedures when students are in the building.  During the assembly, students will practice a lockdown exercise should a lockdown occur while they are in the lunch period.  In addition, Ms. Rossig will discuss our zero tolerance towards harassment and bullying at Pascack Valley High School.

After each part of our training sessions, the members of our School Security Team will review each step of the process.  At each stage of the development and implementation, we will have monitors to evaluate our plans and later meet with us to refine our efforts.

During the remainder of the school year, your student(s) will experience periodic drills.   Each school district is required to have one fire drill and one school security drill per month.  If you have any questions, please call me at 201-358-7060 ext. 24003.

Please see the agenda for our orientation below.

Sincerely,
