National Honor Society Induction

National Honor Society Induction
Logo for the National Honor SocietyOur annual National Honor Society induction ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 11, at 6:30pm in the Pascack Valley auditorium.

The National Honor Society is a group of model junior and senior students who are involved in community service, fundraising and academic services directed towards the betterment of the PV community as well as surrounding towns. Juniors who have a 3.7+ GPA in the middle of their junior year will be invited to apply. NHS students provide academic support for their classmates through drop-in tutoring sessions during the Pascack Period as well as during private sessions as well.

In October, NHS works in collaboration with other groups to run the Pink and Denim fundraiser. NHS collects, shops and creates full Thanksgiving meals to approximately 12 families in the immediate community each November. Students raise money through various holiday candy gram sales to donate to the Dr. Sapienza Scholarship Fund and help fund the Rise Up Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now) Food Packaging Event which is done in collaboration with the Hills NHS each March. NHS students are expected to act as a model for the underclassmen in the four pillars of the group: character, leadership, scholarship and service.

We congratulate all students who will be inducted on April 11 and thank Ms. Valerie Santo for her continued leadership of our NHS chapter.
