The program features performances by the PVHS Mixed Choir, Concert Choir, Bro Squad – the school’s ultimate male a cappella group, and the award-winning Chamber Choir. The Chamber Choir and Bro Squad recently returned from participating in the International Worldstrides Festival in Montreal, Canada, and brought home all of the top awards conferred at the competition.

Under the direction of Argine Safari, 2017 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year, the students will perform songs representing a variety of genres, including Baroque, Renaissance, classical, contemporary choral, and pop.

“We have been working on these songs since September. Some of the songs that we will be performing helped us win gold in Montreal,” said PV senior Julian Stiles, one of five individuals awarded the Maestro Award in Montreal. Julian will play the piano and French horn and sing with the Chamber Choir at the Spring Concert.

This year, Bro Squad is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The Spring Concert will provide a preview of the program the group has been preparing for its 10th Anniversary Concert planned for May 31st. The 2017-2018 Bro Squad has the most members ever in its history and will perform its most difficult repertoire ever.

“We are preparing a very engaging program for the Spring Concert, said Mrs. Argine Safari, PV Choral Director. “We will also be showcasing some outstanding student musicians who plan to pursue music as their major in college. I know that the quality of the performances will be truly superb.”
