Christine Casbar

Christine comes to us as an intern in the Wellness Center. Christine is a mother of three with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology. She began working for a major medical center in Bergen County in their Human Resources department and started to recognize that her greatest strengths as a professional stemmed her ability to work well with a wide variety of people and personalities.

As a Fairleigh Dickinson graduate student, Christine worked as a research assistant where she ran psychoeducational workshops which helped parents develop reading strategies to increase their child's engagement and skills during shared reading time to evaluate parental stress levels. She is the co-author of a manuscript with Dr. Zibulsky that is currently in peer review with the aim of reporting these findings to the field of school psychology. This role gave her the unique opportunity to be a guest speaker at the United Nations' NGO Committee on the Family's monthly meeting.

Christine has also volunteered with a local school district during her graduate studies to maintain and improve one of its educational programs. This was a spring board for her to present the details of the program at the 2017 NCIE Summer Inclusion Conference.  She was nominated for the W=EWNJ's 2017 Graduate Merit Award.  We look forward to Christine as an addition to our Wellness Center.

Danielle Nelson

Danielle is a recent graduate from William Paterson University and very excited to begin her physical education and health teaching career. Being a Physical Education and Health teacher allows Danielle to put two of her passions together, working with adolescents and fitness. Danielle’s goal as a PE teacher is to make a positive impact on her students’ lives by teaching them how to not only become healthy, physically active and fit, but also provide them with the tools and enjoyable activities that will help them maintain it throughout the rest of their lives.

Danielle spends her weekday nights teaching large group spin classes. If she is not instructing classes, she loves spending her free time taking other types of fitness classes such as kickboxing, circuit training, and yoga. When the weather is nice, you can find her at the Jersey shore beaches or hiking at local spots with family and friends.
