Student Assistance Program

August, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We recognize the society we live in continues to change.  Some of these changes, such as offering our students access to technology and opportunities to explore non-traditional classes in the Pascack Schedule have been amazing.  Unfortunately, some societal changes have not been so positive.  Pascack Valley High School continually strives to maintain a safe and drug-free learning environment by providing excellent services for students, concerned parents and staff members.  This year we will be expanding our successful Student Assistance Program with the opening of a Wellness Center for students.  The Wellness Center is located adjacent to the cafeteria.

The Wellness Center offers students and families a safe place to talk about any problems or concerns they may be facing.  The Student Assistance Counselor, Mrs. Christie Rossig, specializes in helping students deal with problems such as substance use/abuse, eating disorders, peer conflicts and trauma.  The Student and Family Resource Liaison, Dr. Steve Myers, specializes in helping students and families with emotional issues, family distress, suicidal thoughts and/or depression.  Both individuals are here to help students deal with issues that may interfere with their learning or emotional health.

Parents, students and/or loved ones with concerns about a student are encouraged to contact Mrs. Christie Rossig at 201-358-7060 ext. 24016 or e-mail or Dr. Steve Myers at 201-358-7060 ext. 24250 or e-mail  All calls are private and confidential and our goal is to help students become successful and healthy.

If you have any questions about our Student Assistance Program, please do not hesitate to contact us at your convenience.
