Pascack Valley High School is pleased to announce that the Pascack Valley Chamber Choir and Bro Squad performed at the CCSSO (Council of Chief School Officers) and NNSTOY (National Network of State Teachers of the Year) Next Steps National Conference on September 27th at 7 pm in Princeton, NJ. The conference was sponsored by the ETS (Educational Testing Service) and hosted the 2018 State Teachers of the Year from all U.S. states and territories.

The PV choirs performed inspirational songs about promoting positive change and equity, songs dedicated to teachers, coaches, and mentors, and popular hits. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace,” "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran, "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban, "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Paul Newman, "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson, "Imagine" by John Lennon, and "Change the World" by Eric Clapton.

“The students are extremely excited to be a part of this event,” said Mrs. Argine Safari, Choral Director, prior to the event. “Since the inception of the National Teacher of the Year program in 1952, no student groups have ever performed at Next Steps, so Pascack Valley Regional High School district is the first district to be representing our state at this prestigious national event.”

Among distinguished guests invited to this event were Dr. John King, Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Bob Menendez, Dr. Lamont Repollet, the NJ State Board of Education Commissioner, and several educational leaders from other states.
