A Midsummer Night's Dream

PV Theatre presents Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Photo: This is the PV Theatre logo“The course of true love never did run smooth,” and what a hilariously bumpy ride it is in Shakespeare’s most magical comedy! Fairy King Oberon (senior Gus Koeniges) and Fairy Queen Titania (junior Talia Dian) are fighting. The mischievous forest sprite Puck (sophomore Axel Marshall) plays tricks that go awry and leave the young lovers, Helena & Demetrius (sophomore Shana Bloom and junior Tyler Toledo), and Hermia & Lysander (sophomore Lauren Kalfus and senior Dan Large) unsure of where their affections lie. The village craftspeople have miscast themselves in a grand romantic play with pompous Nick Bottom (junior Kyle Towey) in the lead, hoping to perform at the duke’s wedding. Before it’s all sorted out, old friends will nearly come to blows, fairies will sing and frolic, and someone will get their head replaced with a donkey’s.  A cast and crew of 58 students have reimagined this timeless classic in an intimate dreamscape that brings the action closer to the audience.

The show runs November 21-23. Performances are nightly at 7pm, with a 1pm Saturday matinee.  Tickets: $15 Adults, $7 for Students.  For ticket sales and more information, visit www.pvhstheatre.org, or call (201) 312-4122.
