Student Assistance Program

In 2016, Pascack Valley High School had the foresight to offer a safe space for students, parents, and staff. Since then, adding the Wellness Center has proven valuable to Pascack Valley High School, offering individual counseling and proactive small group programs in classrooms throughout the school year. Our goal is to provide a culture of belongingness and support.

The Wellness Center works closely with our staff, Guidance Department, Child Study Team, and Health Clinic to meet our students’ educational and emotional needs.  It offers our students and families a safe place to talk about problems or concerns they may face. Our Student Assistance Counselor, Ms. Christie Rossig, specializes in helping students with substance use/abuse, eating disorders, peer conflicts, and trauma. Ms. Joanna Katz, our Student and Family Resource Liaison, specializes in helping students and families with emotional issues, family distress, suicidal ideations, and depression. Both professionals are available to help students overcome problems that may interfere with their learning or emotional health.

Parents, students, or loved ones who may be concerned about a student’s well-being are encouraged to contact Ms. Christie Rossig at 201-358-7060 ext. 24016 or e-mail [email protected] or Ms. Joanna Katz at 201-358-7060 ext. 24212 or e-mail [email protected].  All calls are private and confidential; we aim to help students become healthy and successful.
