November 3, 2022

Dear Hillsdale Families:

We hope this note finds you well as November opens and the beauty of the fall foliage reveals itself. We wish for the continued success of all in your household, especially your high schooler as their learning journey continues at Pascack Valley High School.

As you may have heard, the Hillsdale Public Schools will be offering residents of Hillsdale the opportunity to vote on a Bond Referendum to replace George G. White Middle School with a new, 21st century learning complex inclusive of a new school building and field space.

The current George G. White Middle School has long shown its age. The building lacks the characteristics that form the foundation of a 21st century learning experience, which fosters innovation, a love of learning and space to support psychological and physical wellness. In addition, our middle school faces extensive challenges. It lacks the physical space needed for our students and programming. Our mechanical systems - HVAC, electric, plumbing - are ailing and are the victim of many years of piecemeal fixes driven by emergency circumstances. This encapsulates only SOME of the challenges we face.

On December 1st, 2022  we will be welcoming our Hillsdale parents with high school aged children the opportunity to learn about the upcoming Bond Referendum, the process the Hillsdale Board of Education used to assist in arriving at their decision, and to learn about the option that could be chosen for the future of the Hillsdale Public Schools. This presentation will be very similar to what our parents with children in the current K-8 setting viewed late last school year. This is an exciting time for Hillsdale as the academic experience for many generations of Hillsdale learners and residents will be impacted.

We welcome Hillsdale parents/guardians to join us in the Pascack Valley High School auditorium on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:00 PM.  We anticipate the length of the meeting to be 60-80 minutes.

Thank you and please save the date.  We look forward to seeing you on December 1st, 2022
