Pascack Valley High School is pleased to announce that Sean Cuffe, Class of 2021, has received a Letter of Assurance (LOA) from the United States Military Academy at West Point and hopes to attend next year. Sean is the recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award for leadership, academics, athletics, community service, and good citizenship. The West Point Society of New Jersey, sponsor of the award, presents an individual plaque and a letter of recognition to the student during an awards ceremony at their high school. Recipients, along with their family and guidance counselor, are invited to West Point for a Leadership Awards Recognition Day co-sponsored by the West Point Parents Club and the West Point Society of New Jersey.

 Currently a senior, Sean has been selected to attend the American Legion Jersey Boys State for his character and leadership and is a member of the National Honor Society and President of the Science National Honor Society. He was a DECA Regional Finalist and State Qualifier this year and was in the Science and Math Leagues. He is the Environmental Club Treasurer, the Executive Council Class Liaison and the Habitat for Humanity President. Sean is also a three-sport athlete and is Captain of the Football team and an all-league defensive back, as well as an Ice Hockey and a Lacrosse player at Pascack Valley High School. He has volunteered with the Hillsdale Helping Hands Food Pantry and the Center for Food Action. He has been a Camp Counselor in the summers. Sean is at the top of his class and maintains a 4.73 GPA. He has been on the high honor roll and honor roll each semester and is in all AP and Honors classes. He was selected to attend the West Point Cadet Summer Leaders program.

 

“Sean displays the hard work, determination, intelligence, character, leadership, and teamwork that have made him successful both in the classroom and on the field,” said Glenn deMarrais, PVHS Principal. “He has been a role model to other students during his time at PV.”
