Fall Athletics Season

Fall Athletic Season

To the Pascack Valley Community, Parents and Students,

We are extremely fortunate to be at the beginning of what hopes to be a very rewarding fall athletics season. The COVID-19 experience has taught us many things and it is our hope that we remain focused on what is most important, maintaining the health and safety of our students while having the opportunity to play the games they love with their teammates.

The State athletic association (NJSIAA) and the New Jersey COVID-19 regulations set forth by the CDC, NJDOH, and NJDOE required us to take a hard look at our present operating procedures and make adjustments to comply with the requirements that have been placed upon us. After discussions with our Superintendent, a review of the capacities of our facilities, and a careful assessment of our ability to manage crowds while keeping everyone safe, it has been decided that the following measures will be put in place for all sporting events this fall, regardless of level.

We are extremely excited for the upcoming season and we look forward to once again seeing our Pascack Valley student-athletes compete. Let’s do our part to ensure that these games continue while establishing a safe environment for all.

Sincerely,

Shawn Buchanan

Director of Athletics

Pascack Valley High School

General COVID-19 Fall Sports Guidelines

  1. As per NJSIAA and Governor Murphy’s Executive Order, the outdoor gatherings cannot exceed 500 people, but the total number is dependent on the capacity of the individual venue.
  2. Everyone in attendance must properly wear a mask at all times.
  3. Everyone will be required to be socially distanced. The bleachers and railing of the fence line will be marked for your convenience.
  4. Students will not be allowed to attend any games. This includes away games as our opponents have adopted similar procedures.
  5. Spectators will be limited to parents/immediate family members of those participating in the event.  Admission to all home games (regardless of the sport) will be limited to TWO parents/immediate family members of players, band members, and/or cheerleaders. Parents/immediate family members will receive specific information regarding entrance to the events ahead of time.
  6. Admission to away games will be limited to the number of attendees allotted by the host school. We anticipate that this will be limited to the parents/immediate family members of the individuals participating in the event.
  7. No admission will be charged or collected this season.
  8. For those fans unable to attend home games, we will be streaming online all home Varsity Boys & Girls Soccer and Football games.  PVTV will be providing video coverage of the games.  More information will be shared with the community regarding the links needed to view the games. We will share streaming information for any away games that our opponents offer for our spectators.
  9. Sanitary facilities will be limited to the Port-O Johns located on the campus.
  10. Please observe our no backpacks or bags policy.
  11. No food will be sold at games and there will be no concession stand. We ask that you do not bring any food as well.
  12. Non-alcoholic beverages, such as water, sport drinks, soda, coffee, and tea will be permitted. The game staff and administration reserve the right to inspect these items upon request. You are asked to clean up after yourself to reduce contact with these items by our Buildings & Grounds staff.
  13. Compliance with the instructions of the game help staff is critical to being able to allow spectators.
  14. These rules will be shared with and applied to the visiting teams as well.
