On November 2, Pascack Valley held their second annual Celebration of Cultures (formerly known as the Multicultural Festival). Led by PV Senior Vincent Coglianese and Acting District Supervisor of World Languages, Multilingual Learners, Music, & Family and Consumer Sciences Argine Safari, the event was a booming success!

Similar to last year, there was a lunch event, where students and staff represented more than 25 different countries and cultures. Each group brought different food items, art, videos, clothing samples, presentations, and there was even a Latin dancing class!

Different from last year, where there was only the lunch event, the Celebration of Cultures continued throughout the school day. With the help and support of more than one hundred students and twenty faculty/staff members, Pascack Valley students and staff were able to learn about and enjoy the day through a variety of activities, workshops, and performances. Students in the PV music department and the PV Chamber Jazz Ensemble were featured in the music performances held throughout the morning and afternoon.

Leaders Coglianese and Safari also secured special guests for the Celebration! The New Milford High School Strolling String Ensemble had multiple jaw-dropping performances throughout the day. Award-Winning Composer, commentator, pianist and conductor Mr. Rob Kapilow hosted an interactive workshop where he broke down different musical pieces, shared his past experiences and answered many different amazing questions!

PV is looking forward to hosting another amazing Celebration of Cultures event next year!
